10 years ago, my husband and I said "I do." He and I agree, it was quite possibly the best day of our lives. Even a decade later, the memories seem absolutely perfect in my mind! But as a professional photographer, it's embarrassing to admit this next part: Even though my memories are perfect, I physically cringe when confronted with our wedding photos.



Here's why . . .

The portraits appear lovely, everyone looks happy, it all looks perfect. Yet I remember how awkward and self-conscious I felt while posing, twisting, turning, and plastering on a smile that didn't fit me, Mrs. Meli Kerr.

There was dissonance between the memories in my mind, and the story the photos told.
